Karachi: The 3.8-kilometre long Orange Line Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route has finally been open to the public as a gift to the people of Karachi and stated more projects will be launched soon, according to news published on September 11.

As per the details, Sindh Information, Transport and Mass Transit Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon invited businessmen and transporters to invest in the transport sector of the city to provide better buses for public transportation. He made these remarks while speaking at the launch ceremony of Orange Line BRT. It was mentioned that investors will be facilitated through government subsidies and bank loans.
Moreover, the minister disclosed that if investors, businessmen, or transporters want to invest in this sector, the Sindh government will provide every possible support, from soft loans to providing government subsidies on different accounts. The minister also mentioned that in the second phase of its expansion, the said bus service will be connected to with Green Line bus service, plying up to Nagan Chowrangi. The fare of the bus service is fixed from PKR 10 to PKR 20.

It is pertinent to note that the Orange Line bus service was renamed Abdul Sattar Edhi Line as a tribute to the late philanthropist and humanitarian.
