Karachi: The federal government has completed the development work on the Numaish Chowrangi Underpass project; with the venture set for official inauguration by the end of the month — a news source reported on August 13. Unofficially, the project had remained partially open to traffic during the lockdown period, but is scheduled to be fully reopened after the inauguration.

According to the details available, the work to mark the lanes on the underpass is yet to be completed and is expected to be initiated in a few days. During this process, the lanes on both sides of the road will be closed.

The work on the project had to be delayed because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and was resumed only in June — with the project expected to be fully completed by the end of the month. The remaining work includes lane marking, installation of traffic signals and signs, and some of the development work on the service road near Imam Bargah Ali Raza.
