Karachi: The development of the underpass situated on Karachi’s Numaish Chowrangi will be completed by August, a news source reported. Meanwhile, the construction work on the Chowrangi Underpass roof is in its last stages and will continue despite opening of traffic on the M.A. Jinnah Road.

The authorities concerned revealed that the Numaish Chowrangi underpass was a dedicated route for the Karachi Green Line project. Reportedly, the first section of the Green Line Phase 1 project spans across 17 kilometres from Surjani Town to Gurumandir. Sources said that officials concerned have completed 100% of the civil works required for this phase. Meanwhile, the construction of a station and depot was in its last stages, they added.

On the other hand, the second section of the Green Line Phase 1 project spans from Numaish Chowrangi to Taj Medical Complex. Construction work on this section is yet to begin.
