Karachi: Karachi’s mass transit system is expected to be completed within the next three to four years, according to a news report. This was revealed in a statement issued by Sindh Transport Minister Nasir Shah during a session of the Sindh Assembly.
Shah also highlighted that 10 buses have already been brought under a public-private partnership project and that 20 more were expected along the Dawood Chowrangi-Tower route. Further adding to this, Shah said that over 600 buses for Karachi, while another 600 more for inter-city travel, are being planned to be incorporated.
Providing details about the plans, the minister also highlighted that later, separate pink buses for women, and special features would be added to facilitate the different people travelling on these buses. During the session, Shah also added that neighborhood improvement project, Green Line route, and Karachi Circular Railway were all under way and would be completed as soon as a proper plan is set in place.
