Karachi: Once again Karachi is listed in the world’s 10 most affordable cities to live in, according to a survey conducted by Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) – the UK-based Economist Group’s forecasting, consulting, research, and analysis division, a news source reported on December 1.

The EUI has issued the annual report on the Worldwide Cost of Living for 2022, which is released every year by the division. As per the report issued, Karachi has been ranked sixth in the most recent edition of the survey. It was mentioned that eight Asian cities have made it to the list of most affordable cities.
Moreover, the capital of Syria – Damascus – takes the lead, being on the top of the list of most affordable cities followed by Tripoli – Libya’s capital. Tunisia’s Tunis has landed on the fourth position while Tehran (Iran), Tashkent (Uzbekistan), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Ahmedabad & Chennai (India) have been placed at the third, fifth seventh, eighth, and ninth, respectively.

The news source mentioned that the list is prepared by comparing over 400 individual prices of more than 200 essential commodities including drinks, household supplies, food, personal care items, transport, clothing, education, home rent, recreational costs, and utility bills.
