Karachi: The Karachi University (KU)’s International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) planted more than 1,000 saplings, according to a news report. The ceremony was inaugurated by Prof. Attaur Rahman, former Federal Minister of Science and Technology and the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan Chairman, by planting a sapling. On occasion were present various academics and a large number of students.
Rahman stressed the importance of tree plantation and urged the students to take part in this initiative and improve the country’s environment. The ICCBS Director Dr. Iqbal Chaudhry said everyone at the Centre is required to take part in this plantation drive.
