Karachi: All-Pakistan Organisation of Traders and Cottage Industries (APSTCI) Karachi President Mahmood Hamid, while appreciating the PKR 1.1 trillion package announced by Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan, demanded for the traders who had suffered huge losses during the recent monsoon spell to also be compensated, according to a news report published yesterday (September 6).

Hamid was speaking to a rally of the organisation’s members in Boltan Market, MA Jinnah Road. He stated that in addition to the demanded compensation, the government should also clear the water from the streets and repair the damaged roads around the city.

Other participants of the rally while addressing the gathering stated that due to the monsoon rains, the traders had suffered losses that run as high as PKR 20 billion. They pointed out that the traders have been diligently paying taxes and deserve the government’s support in these difficult times. Moreover, a large number of local traders also attended the rally.
