Karachi: Provincial Minister Jam Ikramullah Dharejo has announced the construction of two new flyovers in the city’s industrial zones under a public-private partnership (PPP) mode, as reported on October 8.

As per the shared details, the project, costing over PKR 10 billion, aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve connectivity. During a meeting chaired by the minister, it was revealed that the flyovers would be constructed at Ghani Chowrangi and Siemens Chowrangi, key locations in Karachi’s industrial zones. Dharejo emphasised that the total cost of the project would exceed PKR 10 billion, with the Sindh government contributing PKR 1.4 billion, while the remaining funds would be provided by private sector partners.
The minister further stated that the construction of the flyovers would take approximately 24 months to complete. The project is designed to provide significant relief to industrialists by reducing traffic bottlenecks, facilitating smoother transportation in the area.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Secretary for Industries and Commerce Muhammad Yasin Shar Baloch, MD of SITE Ghazanfar Ali Qadri, and other senior officers, who discussed the technical aspects and timeline of the project.
This initiative highlights the Sindh government’s commitment to supporting industrial growth through improved infrastructure in collaboration with the private sector.
