Islamabad: Abu Dhabi (AD) Ports Group and Karachi Port Trust (KPT) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to improve the infrastructure of Karachi Port so it can become a leading hub for transhipment and international trade, according to news published in the national dailies on May 22.

The news source mentioned that under this partnership, AD Ports Group will leverage their expertise and relationships with major shipping lines to turn Karachi Port into a global trade hub. The joint statement issued by the two countries highlighted the potential for increased economic cooperation between Pakistan and the UAE.
AD Ports Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi embodies assurance that the collaboration will promote economic prosperity in the region. He said that this partnership is in line with the vision of both countries to promote trade diversification, strengthen bilateral ties, and sustainable growth.
