Karachi: The city authorities on Tuesday notified the implementation of a smart lockdown in the identified coronavirus hotspots of East, West, and Korangi districts, a news source reported. The notification comes following the significant surge in coronavirus cases reported in the city.

The areas to have smart lockdown in Karachi districts are as follows:

According to the notification, there will be a complete ban on movement of people living in these areas. However, grocery shops and pharmacies will remain open during specific hours. All other business activities will remain closed without exceptions. Restaurants, eateries, fast food joints will not have permission to provide home delivery or takeaway services in these areas.

As per details, only one person will have permission to leave the house for purchasing essential items like food and medicines. They will have to show their CNIC to the law enforcers. In case of a person needing extremely necessary medical care, only one attendant will accompany the individual.
