Karachi: Karachi City Administrator Barrister Murtaza Wahab on Saturday (November 06) launched Karachi’s second Miyawaki forest at Boat Basin, news sources reported. The initiative is the second of its kind to be built with the assistance of Ndirshaw Edulji Dinshaw (NED) University Karachi, following the Metropole Hotel Forest Project.

According to Wahab, the city administration plans to create 300 similar Miyawaki forest projects in Karachi, to address the city’s growing climate change-related challenges. To decrease environmental deterioration, all of these initiatives will be developed at an expedited pace, with the assistance of private businesses and citizens.

In another development, while visiting the west Kimari area, the city administrator stated that the provincial government intends to restore 17 dilapidated roads in the city, including the PKR 720 million State Avenue and Valika Road. He stated that the administration is making every effort to improve transportation services in the city. He also stated that the local administration intends to build an additional 15 roads in the Site area.
