The news source mentioned that the industrial zone in Karachi, if realized, could contribute to USD 100 billion in exports over the next five years, potentially generating three million jobs in Karachi alone. FM Ejaz expressed optimism that the business community, through active collaboration with the government’s economic targets, has the opportunity to enhance its earnings while fostering economic growth. He advocated for the involvement of top economists as advisors to FPCCI, contributing to policy recommendations and addressing concerns in Pakistan’s economy.

Punjab Caretaker Minister of Commerce, SM Tanveer, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the need for FPCCI to establish a credible research and development structure. This structure, he suggested, could enable federal and provincial governments to incorporate recommendations into various policy domains, including budgetary, industrial, trade, agricultural, monetary, taxation, SMEs, and infrastructure development policies.
