Karachi-Karachi Commissioner Syed Hassan Naqvi presided over a meeting on Wednesday to review the arrangements for evacuating dangerous and dilapidated buildings in the city, as reported on July 12.

According to details, an official from the Sindh Building Control Authority briefed that most of the dilapidated and dangerous buildings, totaling 450, are located in district South. The meeting was attended by Additional Commissioner Karachi-I, Syed Ghulam Mehdi, Deputy Commissioner South Altaf Sario, and other officials.
During the session, it was revealed that notices have been issued for the evacuation of all endangered buildings.

A detailed list highlighted 40 structures deemed extremely hazardous, necessitating immediate evacuation. The decision was taken for the Deputy Commissioner South to convene meetings with KE and SSGC to disconnect utility services to these buildings promptly, ensuring the safety of residents.
