Mansehra: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan laid the foundation stone of the 32-kilometre-long Kandian Road in Kohistan district, according to news published on June 16.

As per the details, the CM Khan unveiled the plaque commemorating the inauguration of the Kandian Road phase-1 and 75-kilometre-long Spotgah Valley Road projects. It was disclosed that the Kandian Road project will be completed at an estimated cost of PKR 5 billion while the Spotgah Road project will be completed at PKR 8 billion. During the visit, the chief minister addresses the gathering at Dasu in Upper Kohistan.
During his address, the minister stated that the government has introduced a comprehensive local system and empowered the representatives in the province. He further revealed that PKR 37 billion will be released to the local government throughout the province for development projects in the next financial year. He also stated that the development work was underway at a fast pace in all the districts from Dera Ismail Khan (DI Khan) to Chitral.

Furthermore, PM Shehbaz was briefed about the Babusar Tunnel, a 66-kilometre-long route, and the renovation of the current road. It was informed that the project also includes the construction of snow galleries to maintain smooth traffic movement throughout the winter season.
The prime minister directed that the project be carried out in accordance with international standards, emphasising its importance in promoting tourism in the northern territories.
