Islamabad: The government has decided to launch the ‘Kamyab Pakistan Programme’ this month, which would provide assistance to four million households through various schemes, according to media reports.

The programme is one of the most significant efforts launched for the impoverished segment of society. In an interview with the media, Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin indicated that the programme is ready to begin in mid-July since every part of it has been prepared. The minister also provided some details about the initiative. It was revealed that the programme will help with housing projects, health cards, agri-services, skill development, and interest-free business loans.
Mr Shaukat Tarin informed the media that the Kamyab Pakistan Programme will give PKR 300 billion to PKR 400 billion in interest-free loans during the current fiscal year 2021-22.
Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin underlined the need of long-term planning for sustainable economic growth during a meeting of the Economic Advisory Council (EAC). At the third EAC conference, four sub-groups presented on Energy, Domestic Commerce and Price Stability, and State-Owned Enterprises and Privatisation.
The meeting was attended by Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtyar, Minister for National Food Security and Research Fakhar Imam, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Commerce Razak Dawood, SBP deputy governor Mohammad Mian Soomro, and various finance and privatisation secretaries.

Special Assistant on Finance and Revenue Dr. Waqar Masood Khan, discussed how to achieve pricing stability in the country. Zaid Bashir discussed the promotion of indigenous trade. Farooq Rehmatullah presented on the energy sector, emphasizing local and global trends in the refining industry. Sultan Ali Allana spoke on State-Owned Enterprises, while Hassan Nasir Jamy emphasised privatisation.
