Karachi: The federal government will provide PKR 10 billion worth of loans to Sindh youth for business development in the current financial year, news sources reported on February 09. Special Assistant to Prime Minister (SPM) Usman Dar said that the federal government has already disbursed PKR 3 billion in loans to Karachi youngsters in the first round.

According to reports, SAPM indicated that the loans have helped to generate 3,000 jobs and launch 600+ businesses. Sindh has received a total of PKR 5 billion, which will be increased to PKR 10 billion in the current fiscal year. He further stated that, despite the COVID-19 rise, 5,000 retail establishments, including groceries, clothing, and other goods, had opened around the country.

Karachi, alone, has seen the establishment of 1,200 new firms. In addition, he announced the creation of youth development centres in 108 institutions around the country. The incubation centres would provide career counselling and startup management to over two million students.
