Peshawar: Senior Minister for Tourism and Youth Affairs Atif Khan on Monday soft-launched the Kamyab Jawan Programme in Peshawar — with the implementation of the scheme expected to cost PKR 100 billion, according to news sources. The minster further announced that, in addition to granting loans to young entrepreneurs, the government would also be providing them with vocational training in order to support their proposed ventures.

The launch ceremony was held at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University. Addressing the gathered crowd, Minister Khan stated that the provincial government was providing support to the young people of the country with a PKR 5 billion programme, aimed at offering them easy loans and help them with employment opportunities. Additionally, Minister Atif Khan also highlighted that the large population of young people in Pakistan was an immense, untapped talent pool that could help the country in the future.

Out of the aforementioned PKR 5 billion fund, PKR 3 billion is expected to be set aside for young people belonging to the newly-merged tribal districts (NTMDs), while the remaining PKR 2 billion will be made available for the youth population of the rest of the country.
