Mansehra: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister (CM) Mahmood Khan on Monday stated the government has come up with a plan to make Kaghan valley an international destination for tourists, according to media reports.

Prime Minister Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan visited the Kaghan valley, joined by KP Governor Shah Farman and Hazara Division Commissioner Riaz Mehsud.
During his visit, CM Mahmood Khan stated that measures are being taken to attract tourists by conserving the valley’s ecosystem. He went on to say that the business community must collaborate closely with the government to promote tourism. This partnership will benefit the valley’s tourist activity.
Here are the details about the measures taken to promote tourism:
- More trees will be planted in the Kaghan valley.
- Rules and regulations for river rafting have been finalized for the safety of tourists.
- For the protection of the riverbanks of the Kunhar River, trees are being planted.
- Trout will be released in the Kunhar River.
- Over one million biodegradable bags are being distributed as part of the environmental protection initiative.
- Motorbikes are provided to the community river rangers to keep an eye on illegal fishing, mining, and tree cutting. The rangers will patrol the Kunhar River, from Balakot to Babusar Top.
- Tulip gardening will commence next month and the growers will earn PKR 60,000 from the one-Kanal plot produce.

- The government is considering to establish the Battakundi-Lalazar chairlift project.
- The Saiful Muluk lake will be linked to the Ansoo lake through a 7-kilometre-long pony trail for tourists.
