Quetta: Balochistan Chief Secretary Captain (retd) Fazeel Asghar said that the authorities concerned have completed the first phase of the Kachhi Canal project and work on the second phase was currently underway, according to a news source.

Asghar was chairing a meeting on the project, and stated that once the development work was completed, it would initiate a new era of progress in the province. He added that the project would significantly boost the province’s economy and agricultural production, along with enhancing the quality of life of the common man.
Officials concerned informed the meeting that the project’s first phase had been completed. They added that the work done during this phase would help cultivate 102,000 acres of land, while work on Kachhi Canal’s second phase was currently being conducted by the relevant authorities as well.

The chief secretary instructed the authorities to adhere to the provided timelines and warned that the provincial government would not tolerate any compromises on the quality of work being done on all development projects, including Kachhi Canal.
