Karachi: The K-Electric (KE) on Thursday launched a drive against illegal power installations in the city, a news source reported. The officials concerned removed illegal KE installations by TV cable and internet service providers. They also removed street light switches, kunda connections, and telephone lines.

The officials conducted the said operation in Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, and Gulshan. A KE spokesperson said that during the drive, the officials removed more than 145 illegal and dangerous street light switches and disconnected 175 kunda connections. He added that KE officials cleared illegally installed TV and internet cables from more than 96 poles in Gulshan and Five Star areas.

Earlier this month, KE had announced to reopen its customer care centres across all its spheres. Previously, due to the restrictions imposed for the prevention of COVID-19, KE customer care centres were only providing select services.
