Lahore: The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) recently granted the Diamer-Bhasha consultancy contract to a joint venture (JV) led by the National Engineering Services Pakistan (NESPAK), according to a news source.

Both parties signed an agreement in this regard in a ceremony held at the Mega Hydel Complex, Islamabad. The contract was signed by an authorised representative from the Diamer-Bhasha Consultants Group (DBCG), the Project Director Diamer-Bhasha Development Company, and Managing Director (MD) NESPAK Dr Tahir Masood.

Federal Minister Faisal Vawda, WAPDA Chairman Lt General (rtd) Muzammil Hussain, Federal Secretary Muhammad Ashraf, Joint Secretary Syed Muhammad Mehar Ali Shah and various members of the consulting firm and WAPDA were also present at the ceremony.
This NESPAK-led JV consists of six firms. These include NESPAK; MWH (Stantec) International Inc – USA; Poyry (Afry) Switzerland Limited – Switzerland; DOLSAR Engineering Inc. Co. – Turkey; MM Pakistan Pvt Ltd – Pakistan; and Associated Consulting Engineers ACE Ltd – Pakistan. NESPAK will take the lead on this project, and will collaborate with the all the firms to complete the Diamer-Bhasha consultancy project.
