Mansehra: A judicial commission has ordered the eviction of illegal occupants from land acquired for the New Balakot City housing project, a news source reported. Mansehra’s district administration has been directed to evict the illegal occupants.
The orders were issued in meeting chaired by Peshawar High Court chief justice’s principal staff officer Zeb Khan. The commission was constituted by the Supreme Court to probe the embezzlement of funds for rehabilitation and reconstruction activities in Balakot area after the 2005 earthquake.
The commission is also tasked with investigating the long delay in the reconstruction projects. The New Balakot City housing project was to be completed by 2012.
