Islamabad: The Federal Government Employees Housing Authority (FGEHA) has announced its decision to finalise a joint-venture (JV) policy with private partners for the purpose of developing residential apartments under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad – a news source reported.
As per sources, the FGEHA has so far identified four to five development partners for commencing with the finalisation of the federal government’s joint-venture policy – in its bid to construct low-cost houses and apartments in the said cities.

Moreover, the price of a three-bedroom apartment in Lahore is expected to be set at PKR 10.11 million, PKR 9.8 million in Rawalpindi, and PKR 10.17 million in Karachi. As per government officials, the executive is mulling over the final agreements with private partners for introducing residential schemes in the three metropolitans.
Similarly, a 225-kanal apartment scheme featuring 3,601 flats is expected to be developed in Bajnial, Rawalpindi. The cost of a 2-bedroom apartment measuring 1,100 square feet (sq ft) is expected to be set at PKR 7.2 million.

As per the officials, the apartment scheme in Lahore would be constructed on 30 kanals of land recently identified in Bedian. The cost of a 2-bedroom apartment, spanning over 1,150 sq ft would be PKR 7.130 million and the cost of a 900 sq ft, 1-bedroom apartment will be PKR 5.580 million.
For Karachi, a residential scheme measuring 210 kanals is being considered for development in Mangho Pir, Surjani Town. The price of a 3-bedroom apartment on 1,566 sq ft is expected to be set at 10.1 million and the price of 2-bedroom apartment on 1,396 sq ft would be PKR 9 million, as reported by the sources.
