Islamabad: The Japanese ambassador to Pakistan Matsuda Kuninori on Wednesday (August 4) said that Japan will offer 70 training programmes for Pakistani nationals in various fields, reported news sources. The number of participants and the duration will depend on the course type, while the courses will be offered every year.

The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will organise the programmes, with assistance from Japanese ministries, municipalities, universities, and other relevant organisations.
According to sources, due to the constraints in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the training will be conducted online. Training in the field of Education, health, water resources, environment and human development, industrial needs, agriculture, energy, transportation, and Information and Communications Technology (ICT), governance, disaster risk reduction, and gender development will be covered.

The programme was launched for the first time in 1957, and 6,000 individuals have been taught in various professions since then.
