Lahore: Punjab Employees Social Security Department (PESSD) is considering a proposal to replace its existing office on Jail Road with a 140-ft high mixed-use tower having 15 floors, a news source reported. In this regard, Minister of Punjab for Labour and Human Resource Ansar Majeed Khan received a briefing by the officer of PESSD.
The proposed tower will feature purposefully built office space for PESSD, healthcare, education and business sector. That’s in addition to having plans for dedicating area for restaurants, conference rooms, banks, gymnasium, and corporate offices for multinational firms. The new tower promises monthly rental income for the department, which can be used for welfare of labour class.
Khan was told that the very location of PESSD’s existing office among posh business centres makes this project commercially viable. Commenting on the proposal, Khan said the proposed building should have a proper car parking area, fire safety system, an emergency exit, and a central heating and cooling system.
