Islamabad: The Islamabad Wildlife Management Board (IWMB) announced to development of a new walking trail in Shah Allah Ditta area for the purpose of promoting tourism in the city, according to news published on August 17.

During the site visit, IWMB chairman directed the concerned officials to devise a plan for the setting up a new trail. The site is part of Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) but lacks patrolling mechanism. As per the details shared, IWMB will also make necessary preparations for carrying out patrolling to prevent illegal occupation of land in this area.
Previously, the 44-km long Margalla Ridge trail, which extends to Summa Khyber Pakhtunkhwa from Shah Allah Ditta, was inaugurated in November 2018. Shah Allah Ditta is among the major tourist attractions of the region because of presence of several Buddhist caves, next to the shrine of Hazrat Shah Allah Ditta.

Moreover, IWMB, working under the climate change ministry, has developed tracks, and walking trails for trekkers and tourists in Margalla Hills.
