Islamabad: The Ambassador of Italy to Pakistan Andreas Ferrarese on Wednesday stated that there were untapped opportunities for mutually beneficial investments and trade between Italy and Pakistan that will prove advantageous to both business and trade communities of both countries.

The ambassador made these remarks while hosting a dinner at his residence for the senior business leaders and presidents of several trade chambers of Pakistan. He said that the trade and cultural relations between the countries are at an all-time high and that it is a great opportunity to promote mutual trade and economic ties between Pakistan and Italy.

Ambassador Ferrarese informed that his country hosts the largest Pakistani diaspora in the European Union (EU) countries. In the fiscal year (FY) 2020-21, workers remittances from Italy reached USD 601 million – which is an all-time high amount. He also revealed that Italy is presently offering technical assistance in the agriculture and textile upgradation of Pakistan.
