Islamabad: The Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication is currently developing a programme titled ‘Baytee’ (daughter) — a scheme which has been formulated to empower women through Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), according to news sources.
A meeting was held on Thursday for this purpose, which was chaired by Information Technology and Telecommunications Minister Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui. The session featured a detailed discussion on the campaign, and the attendees were also briefed on the progress of the initiative so far.

The Federal Minister was informed that under the programme, a mobile app will be created as a consolidated portal for advocacy of women’s rights, spreading awareness about laws and regulations, details of women-oriented educational institutes, scholarships, training centres, job opportunities, and health services etc.

The minister appreciated the progression of the scheme till date, and instructed the concerned officials to fast-track the development of the mobile application so that the campaign can be launched soon.
