Reportedly, the package was aimed at providing a boost to economic activity and investments in the country. The ICCI president stated that it has been three months since the announcement of the said package, yet the lack of an official notification was hindering its proper implementation. He said that the Punjab government had issued its notification and timelines for the construction sector, and he urged the federal government to do the same at the earliest.

He said that these delays were affecting both industrial growth and the CDA’s revenue generation capacity. He highlighted that the business community was also facing issues in receiving lease renewals from the CDA. He asked for the CDA to issue all the relevant notifications and streamline the lease renewal procedure in order to promote business and economic growth.
Moreover, Mr Waheed said that the materialisation of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP) for low-income segments of the society was important. He further called for Prime Minister Imran Khan to issue directions for the proper implementation of the construction industry package.
