Lahore: The Excise and Taxation Department of Punjab has placed a ban on the issuance of manual NOCs for vacant plots in the city, according to a new source. The process has instead been replaced with computerised NOCs, which have a special code and QR code.
To facilitate the public in this regard, one-window centre of Excise Department has been set up in Lahore Development Authority (LDA) office in Johar Town. Similar centres will be set up throughout the province in the next couple of days.
The new system has been launched on the instructions of Excise Minister Hafiz Mumtaz Ahmed and Excise Director General Akram Ashraf Gondal. Reportedly the computerised system’s database has records of all properties, which also allows for online verification of property transfer.
The project has been made functional without any additional cost as existing resources were put to use to make it operational. All important housing societies in Lahore, Multan, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Rawalpindi, Bahawalpur and DG Khan will be given access to the system.
