The meeting discussed the implementation of effective security measures in Islamabad and installation of high-tech cameras at all police pickets. According to details, these cameras will be connected to the Safe City Project.
During the meeting, the IGP stated that his department was taking elaborate measures for the city’s security in collaboration with other law enforcement agencies. He added that cameras would help improve the security situation and maintain high vigilance in Islamabad.
Senior police officials said that the high-tech cameras would also help in following up on complaints of police behaviour. They added that cameras were capable of capturing images of law enforcement officials and the public (suspects, passers-by, and witnesses) even at night. They said that the feed would connect to Rescue 15, where the recording will be available if needed. The officials opined that this measure would help verify all interactions and resolve complaints.
