Islamabad: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) shared that the construction work on the Korang Bridge project will be complete in April 2022, according to news sources.

As per the details, the CDA officials mentioned that the project was to be completed in December; however, the project has faced delays and is expected to be completed next year. The CDA officials stated that the authority awarded both projects, P.W.D Underpass and Korang Bridge, simultaneously and to the same contractor. The civic agency’s priority was to complete P.W.D Underpass and after its completion work on the bridge would be started. Sharing more details, the official stated that shifting utility services took additional time.

Moreover, CDA officials mentioned that the expressway – one of the busiest roads in the city – is used by heavy and local traffic, especially people travelling to and from Lahore. This expressway is an important link between Azad Kashmir, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Due to development in the surrounding areas, the traffic load is increased. Expansion of Korang Bridge is will help ease traffic congestion to a significant extent. The CDA official stated that the agency was also expanding and repairing existing service roads from Faizabad to Koral, which will further ease traffic load.
