As per the publication, the initiative to optimise the CRVS systems will also strengthen 50 ICT Unions Councils (UCs) for online registration of vital events and share records with the federal data repository at the National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA).
In addition, the officials also revealed that the need for an updated system arose from the fact that Pakistan lacks credible registration of births and death, and the CRVS records are often inaccurate. However, this revamped civil registration system will help credibly collect vital statistics.
