Islamabad: Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (PM) on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Affairs Ali Nawaz Awan has announced the administration’s decision to construct a slaughter house in Islamabad on a timely basis. He further stated that the city’s new master plan emphasises the development of mini meat markets in each sector.

Awan revealed this information while talking to a delegation of the All Pakistan Jamiat Ul Quresh Meat Welfare Association on Wednesday. Moreover, he issued directives to the authorities concerned for hiring a consultant to commence with the construction of the slaughter house on a priority basis.
On the matter of meat markets, he stated that these facilities would be constructed on the allotted plots as per the city’s master plan being implemented by CDA. Awan added that these markets would provide affordable and quality meat to public.

In another meeting, the special assistant said that the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration would operate the Metro Buses in the city. During his briefing to the officials concerned, he focused on the ancillary requirements of the Metro Bus Project. These included the command & control centre, depot, and terminal.
He remarked that the National Highway Authority (NHA) would prepare a revised PC-1 for the project covering all requirements such as buses, security surveillance, and requisite hardware for electronic ticketing.
