Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Administration has revised its standard operating procedures (SOPs) to meet the government’s eased COVID-19 lockdown guidelines, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the ICT administration revealed that the commercial centres (marakaz) in all sectors would operate five days a week from Sehri till 5 PM – while strictly implementing the suggested SOPs. Additionally, spare parts stores, food home delivery, tandoors, and auto workshops will be permitted to remain open 24/7.

Furthermore, the revised SOPs also allow karyana stores, general stores, atta chakkis, bakeries, meat and dairy shops, fruit and vegetable shops, kettle market, sabzi mandi, and construction-related shops to remain open throughout the week from 9 AM to 5 PM. The same protocols apply to stores related to ceramics, PVC pipe, aluminum, steel, electronic appliances.

The capital’s administration has not allowed cinema halls, marriage halls, hotels, restaurants, marquees, barbershops, public transport, gyms, and educational institutions to reopen. It has cautioned the traders that outlets would be sealed if SOPs are violated.
