Islamabad: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan on Wednesday ordered the capital city police to continue taking strict action against land grabbers, a news source reported.

Chairing a performance review meeting of Islamabad Police, the IGP urged officers to take action against the local land mafia. He added that city would get rid of land grabbers in line with Prime Minister (PM)’s vision.
During the meeting, DIG (Operations) presented a report on the action taken so far by Islamabad Police against land grabbers in the city. He added that no major case of illegal occupation was reported in the last six months given the effective action of the police officers without discrimination.

On the other hand, IGP Zulfiqar also warned about action against police officials found working with the land grabbers. He issued orders on activating the Citizens’ Coordination Committees for checking the performance of the station house and investigation officers in relation to land mafia. He also asked to complete investigations on pending cases and submit the challans in courts at the earliest.
