Islamabad: The Islamabad Police has launched a ‘one sector seal’ policy for the protection of the lives and properties of the city’s citizens — a news source reported. According to this security policy, the authorities will seal one sector in each of the police zones across the city and conduct thorough checks on individuals passing through their blockades.

As per the new policy, the police recently decided to seal the entire I-8 sector from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. During this time, the official’s performed strict checks on all of the 14 entry and exit points within the sector.
Police stations belonging to the Sabzi Mandi, Industrial Area, and Shamas Colony took part in the exercise and were assisted by the Noon Police Station. The officials checked every suspected vehicle and bike entering the sector, and managed to nab 20 suspects, impound 80 bikes, and stop eight professional beggars.

In addition, the police conducted separate checks at different other areas across Islamabad. During this operation, the police managed to impound 765 bikes and 12 vehicles that were being used without required documents, and shifted the culprits to various police stations within the city.
In total, the police nabbed 28 professional beggars and 250 other suspected individuals. They also removed black paper used for tinted-glass in 5 vehicles.

The citizens expressed their appreciation for the measures taken, and extended their full cooperation to the police. Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations Waqar Uddin Syed further instructed that such policing efforts should continue in the future, in order to prevent criminal activities and ensure the safety of the citizens.
