IGP Amir Zulfiqar issued orders on making all the requisite arrangements in this regard, and directed the authorities concerned to add the names of alleged land grabbers in Islamabad on the ECL. The aim of this measure is to prevent the suspected individuals from fleeing the country.
According to sources, the IGP has directed Operations DIG Waqaruddin Syed to take all measures for controlling the land mafia network in Islamabad. Additionally, he has asked that no leniency should be shown to the suspects involved in land grabbing cases, and that they should be arrested at the earliest possible opportunity. He further ordered the investigation officers of encroachment cases to accelerate the process and remove any legal discrepancies that might benefit the land-grabbing suspects in courts.
