They further assured the Senate Standing Committee on Planning, Development and Reforms that the entire Metro Bus project for the capital city would be made functional by next year. This is yet another delay in the inauguration of this Metro Bus project, which was previously planned for December 2019.
The officials revealed this information during a meeting held at the Parliament House and convened by Senator Agha Shahzaib Durrani. Members of the meeting were informed that 25.6 kilometres of road tracks for the Metro Bus had already been completed, while electric and mechanical work on the project was currently underway.

Additionally, the matter of the M-2 motorway toll tax was discussed. According to the NHA officials the toll had increased by 10% as it does every year; however Senator Maqbool argued that such a significant increase in the tax was not justified. The meeting also deliberated the land acquisition process of the NHA, with the majority agreeing that the process was too complicated and needed to be reviewed.
