Islamabad: The federal government is looking to revise the master plan of Islamabad, a news source quote Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi. A commission will be set up to change the master plan according to present needs and requirements. The commission will be headed by an expert and all stakeholders will be consulted.
The minister was addressing a press conference along with Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan after a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
The minister stated that land-grabbers had occupied a large amount of land previously but the current government has successfully vacated 33,000 kanals just in two villages. This is meant to be part of the efforts to stop mushroom growth in the federal capital. The government also plans to expedite Capital Development Authority’s operation against land-grabbers and strict action will be taken against their facilitators.
