Islamabad: Minister for Science & Technology Fawad Chaudhry on Monday stated that Attock Petroleum Limited would establish Islamabad’s first ‘Electric Car Charging Point’, a news source reported.

According to details revealed, the company would set up the facility at a fuel station in Jinnah Avenue. In a tweet, the science minister said that this inauguration was a ‘milestone for the Ministry of Science & Technology’ in the wake of introducing electric vehicles in Pakistan.
On the other hand, sources have revealed that there is already an Electric Car Charging Point in Islamabad. They highlighted that there was a BMW electric vehicle charging station in Kohsar Market, F-6.

The government had approved the electric vehicle policy last month. In its first phase, the policy would focus on buses, bikes, trucks, pick-up vehicles, and three-wheeled rickshaws. Advisor on Climate Change Malik Amin had stated that the government would add benefits for personally owned cars to the electric vehicle policy at a later stage.
