Islamabad: Chairman Capital Development Authority (CDA) Muhammad Ali Randhawa underscored the importance of integrating cycle tracks with metro and other bus stations across Islamabad to promote sustainable urban mobility, as reported on August 9.

As per details, in a detailed Zoom briefing by consultants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the focus was on the proposed cycle tracks as a cost-effective and eco-friendly mode of transportation and recreation in the city. Chairman Randhawa emphasised the need for the project to meet international standards while remaining budget-conscious. He also directed that environmental experts be consulted to ensure the design preserves Islamabad’s green belts and enhances the city’s natural beauty. The ADB mission shared global best practices and insights from various countries, offering valuable guidance for developing Islamabad’s cycle tracks. Suggestions were made to incorporate these international standards throughout the project.
