Islamabad: Islamabad Chief Commissioner who is also Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Amir Ali Ahmed has instructed the assistant commissioners of the various districts to impose a fine on people found littering in public places, according to a news story.

The CDA chairman also directed the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI)’s Environment Wing and Sanitation Directorate to remove wild bushes and vegetation in all CDA sectors, major avenues, and commercial areas of the city within five days. The measure is planned under the cleanliness drive.

The CDA has issued the funds required to remove the wild vegetation, in order to give Islamabad a cleaner look. At the same time, the assistant commissioners in all districts of Islamabad have been asked to cooperate with MCI to clean the federal capital and impose fine on the litterers.

As per the news report, the Local Government, MCI and CDA have joined hands to make this campaign successful. Reportedly, the process to remove wild bushes and plant saplings is underway on Murree Road, Zero Point, Kashmir Highway, Faisal Avenue, Constitution Avenue, Kashmir Chowk, Pakistan Monument and in the areas surrounding the Supreme Court building.
