Islamabad: Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi led a pivotal meeting at the Capital Development Authority (CDA) headquarters on Friday to propel Islamabad into the ranks of world-class cities, as reported on July 8.

According to details, the CDA will exclusively procure electric motorbikes moving forward, marking a significant step towards curbing environmental pollution. Furthermore, plans are underway to introduce eco-friendly electric buses, replacing conventional motorcycles as part of a sweeping environmental initiative. Addressing critical infrastructure gaps, the Minister announced the transition of emergency services administration from MCI to CDA, promising enhanced international standard emergency services for residents. Emphasising efficient urban management, Naqvi underscored the imminent establishment of the Capital Waste Management Company, with expedited plans to finalize related matters.

To alleviate traffic congestion, Mohsin Naqvi outlined imminent construction plans for the Serena Chowk Underpass and F-9 Park Chowk Flyover projects, alongside prioritising the long-awaited completion of the Expressway project. He also pledged to complete development initiatives in underdeveloped sectors of Islamabad, ensuring timely possession for allottees.
