Karachi: Sindh Chief Minister (CM) Syed Murad Ali Shah has ordered the irrigation department to ensure equitable distribution of water in the command areas of all three barrages and 14 canals, as well as address water theft issues – a news sources reported.
He expressed his views on the matter during a meeting, which was held to review progress on equitable distribution of water, particularly to the tail-end areas of Badin, Sujawal and Thatta.
Irrigation Minister Syed Nasir Shah, Agriculture Minister Ismail Rahu, Deputy Speaker of Sindh Assembly Rehana Leghari, Special Assistant to the CM on Irrigation Ashfaque Memon, Special Secretary of Irrigation Aslam Ansari, and members of the provincial assembly from Badin, Sujawal and Thatta were all present at the occasion.
CM Shah directed the department to ensure adequate water supply to command area of the Kotri Barrage where early crops of Kharif are planted.
