Islamabad: Senator Mushahid Hussain Sayed said on Tuesday that the trade agreements between Iran and China would strengthen the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor’s (CPEC) projects in Gwadar, fortifying regional connectivity, according to news sources.

He went on to say that side-lining India by Iran from the Chabahar port would secure peace and maintain security on Pakistan’s western borders. The senator lauded the role of Pakistan Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa to maintain regional peace and stated that due to his efforts, Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan and Iran are improving.

Reportedly, Iran is putting its efforts into the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and CPEC. Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Seyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini said that the BRI and CPEC will promote regional development for China, Iran and Pakistan.
