Sargodha: Sargodha Deputy Commissioner (DC) Salwat Saeed has ordered a high-level investigation into delays in approvals for several buildings, according to a news source. The owners of these buildings were facing delays in these approvals despite having paid their dues.

The issue was brought to Saeed’s attention after a citizen filed a complaint with his office. This complaint included details on how the said citizen had approached the municipal corporation two years ago, and submitted all the required documents and approval fees amounting to over PKR 1.5 million for constructing a school. The complaint included a request for a refund.

Based on this complaint, DC Saeed has instructed the officers concerned to launch an investigation. As per the initial findings, it has been discovered that maps for several commercial and residential buildings including schools, hostels, plazas and marriage halls have been waiting on approval for the last several years.

Reportedly, the building owners have met all the official requirements and paid the map-approval fee. Due to delays in map approval, construction work on all of these property units has been on hold during that time.
