Karachi: Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has announced a new interest-free loan program aimed at promoting the installation of solar systems across Sindh, as claimed by a news source on June 20.

According to the details, Shah outlined the government’s commitment to tackling regional challenges and emphasised prioritising ongoing initiatives while ensuring promises to the public are fulfilled. In addition to plans for enhancing clean water supply throughout Sindh, Shah highlighted the initiative’s goal to provide electricity to 500,000 people annually.

The initial phase will see solar systems distributed to impoverished households capable of powering a fan and three bulbs. For those seeking independent installation, the government will offer interest-free loans, with the interest costs covered by the provincial government. Shah also disclosed plans to construct two grid stations in every district of Sindh, aiming to bolster the region’s energy infrastructure.
