Karachi: The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has amended the Karachi Building & Town Planning Regulations 2002, under which building owners are required to install recycling plants and septic tanks for the treatment of sewage in high-rise buildings having more than ground plus four floors.
The recycling plants and septic tanks will be installed in accordance with the construction and maintenance requirements set by the National Environment Quality Standards (NEQS).
According to a news source, the treated sewage will be disposed of at the sites designated by the Karachi Water and Sewage Board (KWSB).
