Karachi: Installation of electricity metres in 50 shops of Fruits & Sabzi Market’s fruit section in Phase I has been completed, reported a news source. This has been made possible after the 17 year long struggle of the Fruits & Sabzi Market Committee.
Out of the 400 shop owners in the market’s Fruit Section, electricity metres have been approved for 100 owners, against which they have also been issued the challan. More metres are expected to be approved in the coming days.
According to Fruits & Sabzi Market Committee Vice President Asif Ahmed, 70% shop owners have submitted their applications to get an electricity metre installed for their shops. He also told the media that according to their contracts signed with K-Electric, electricity supply will be non-stop.
